DISCOVER WHAT WE DO
CIM DEPARTMENT
Christian, Identity & Mission (CIM) Department
The Christian, Identity & Mission (CIM) Department promotes unity in Christ and works to extend God’s Kingdom through outreach, spiritual growth, and mission-driven programs. It oversees the Association’s Christian activities and collaborates with churches and Christian organizations to foster Christian mission, ecumenical concerns, and relationships. Additionally, CIM supervises and evaluates the work of the 3rd KL Boys’ Brigade Company and other community groups.
Key Programs & Activities
Over the years, CIM has organized various programs for members and staff, including:
YMCA Friday Christian Fellowship
- Originally introduced as Praise, Word & Healing in August 2016 and Staff Devotion in September 2019, these two programs were merged and rebranded as YMCA Friday Christian Fellowship in September 2024. The fellowship is held every second Friday of the month.
Easter Service
- An annual gathering held on the Saturday before Easter Sunday, attended by approximately 50 participants.
World Week of Prayer
- In collaboration with YWCA KL & PJ, this yearly event is part of the World Alliance's global initiative to unite in prayer. Each year, a special theme and a prayer booklet guide participants through a week of reflection and intercession.
Church Engagement & Community Outreach
- CIM actively collaborates with churches in the Brickfields area, organizing events such as inter-church dialogues and sports activities like the annual Badminton Tournament. As a neutral platform, CIM fosters unity and strengthens relationships among different Christian denominations.
Tea Talk Sessions
- Launched in September 2024, this monthly discussion program has received positive feedback from members and guests. Each session focuses on a specific topic—ranging from faith and forgiveness to family issues—all examined through a biblical lens, with a speaker guiding the discussion.
Bible Distribution Initiative
- In partnership with The Gideons International, CIM has distributed nearly 300 Bibles to walk-in visitors, hostel guests, and members. We will continue working with The Gideons to spread the Good News.
CIM remains committed to strengthening Christian identity and mission through meaningful engagement, fellowship, and outreach efforts.
